Koenigsegg Agera R replica crash scene

June, 30. 2013.

A Koenigsegg Agera R replica has been recently crashed during a scene in the new Need for Speed movie. I wonder how big the buget would have to be if all the cars are real in the movie stunts :)

"Ok, bring new Agera....this is our 6th try, lets make it perfect now...."

Need for Speed Movie & Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

June, 30. 2013.

Dreamwork & Ford made a deal about the main hero car in the Need for Speed movie will be custom Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. But most of the "custom" parts are just for the looks since some of the things that was changed on the stock version don't have any real purpose and also the car has 900HP only in the movie, but still it's a beautiful car :)

Pictures and up close details are from where you can check full gallery and more info about the car.

"NFS Shelby GT500 needed a much more aggressive appearanced, and it got it thanks to the specially designed widebody kit and two extra large air inlets on either side of the car. The the auxiliary lights in the grille have been removed, and in true movie car fashion have been fitted with a ring of LED lights that turn on with the main headlights. On the hood is a set of dual intakes, although we’re sad to inform you that they’re not functional along with the intakes along the side of the car. The rear view mirrors have been replaced with rear-facing cameras (non-functioning as well), and filling out the wheel well is a set of 22-inch Forgiato wheels. Inside the NFS Shelby is mostly stock, fitted with a Ford Racing shifter and rear seat delete with cross bracing. As for the engine, the car in the movie plot has 900 horsepower, but being mostly a prop the Shelby retains its stock specification."

13th Street bridge filming next day

June, 6. 2013.

Two shots is all they needed to get the car-flip right. Cars raced across the 13th Street Bridge this afternoon at about 180 miles-per-hour and one car flipped over a ramp on to the bridge. Film crews were satisfied with what they got after two stunt attempts.

Myrtle Hill Cemetery shooting and overall thoughts

May, 17. 2013.

Production of Need for Speed movie is going forward in a high pace moving from one location to next. This time they were in Rome, Georgia and the surrounding area like Myrtle Hill Cemetery and Cave Spring Road. Production crew and the actors were pleasently surprised with the locations.

"It’s a beautiful landscape. I’ll tell you, originally, when we signed up for the job we all thought we were going to Italy," Cooper joked.

Visual effects supervisor Kevin Baillie said, "We didn’t know what to expect when we came to Rome but, looking around, everything’s so beautiful with the rolling hills. And the cemetery we’re shooting in is so unique and hilly and oddly peaceful."

Producer Pat O’Brien, said the film’s plot is largely confidential, but the concept is based on a video game.

"The video game Need for Speed has been out for 19 years and people wanted to make a movie on it for a long, long time," he said. "We really had to wait until we found the right story, the right director, the right ensemble group of actors and we finally found it here."

O’Brien said Thursday was the 28th day of shooting the film, most of which has been in Georgia. The crew has filmed in Macon and Atlanta. They’ve also shot in San Francisco and Mendocino, California.

“The final race in the movie takes place in Mendocino,” he said.

New release date

April, 7. 2013.

It seems that we won't watch the movie in February as it was first announced. Instead new release date will set the movie couple of weeks after Warner Bros' "The Lego Movie" and Sony/Columbia's "Robocop" remake, March 14.

Not that big of a problem if they make the job right, but I want to see that filming has started so I can see pictures and cars already.

Aaron Paul talks about the movie

February, 21. 2013.

As some of you know Breaking Bad is going to end this year, but after it's done Aaron Paul will have no rest because he's going straight to filming of this movie. Recently he had an interview with Empire about it and he explains us there how he got the role and what we can remotely expect:

"[It was] all thanks to Steven Spielberg, because he loves Breaking Bad. It was like, 'Yep, I'm going to give you this.' I was in London when I got the phonecall. I think I said, 'Really? Okay. Wow.'

Need For Speed is going to surprise everybody. I think a lot of people are thinking it's going to be this car film, but it's not that at all. There's no actual narrative in the game, it's just superfast cars with the point of view of the driver: his point of view as his car blasts around. And, of course, cops chasing them. It's just plain make believe, pure imagination – it's really, truly a blank canvas using really incredible supercars."

If he says it's going to surprise me then I can only wait for it to do so and hope they make a good movie based on a game. Like he said, "Need for Speed" games don't really have some hard on stories, at least the old ones don't have it, haven't played the new ones, so script writers have a lot of freedom.

Well, we'll just have to wait next year to see because DreamWorks is planning to put this movie on the big screen in February. Let's wait for our minds to be blown.

Michael Keaton joins the cast

February, 5. 2013.

Michael KeatonLatest addition is a legend of it's own. Michael Keaton, ladies and gentleman, has joined the "Need for Speed". Although this movie had a great cast already, it just got much better.

Keaton will be playing the role of, "the reclusive and eccentric host of an underground supercar race where he invites the best drivers from around the world".

According to the official site, the story tells of a local street-racer (Paul) who partners with a rich and arrogant business associate (Cooper), only to find himself framed by his colleague and sent to prison. After his stint in the joint, he joins a New York-to-Los Angeles race to get revenge. But when the ex-partner learns of the scheme, he puts a massive bounty on the racer's head, forcing him to run a cross-country gauntlet of illegal racers in all manner of supercharged vehicles.

Even thou I still haven't seen a good movie based on a game I'll say that this one has a good chance, but I won't say anything else cause I might jinx it.

Kid Cudi comes onboard

January, 15. 2013.

Kid CudiSome more people joined us on this ride. Scott 'Kid Cudi' Mescudi, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek and Harrison Gilbertson came on the crew list for this fine movie. So far we only know about Mescudi's role, but let's remember the story a little.

Tobey Marshall (Aaron Paul) is an underground racer who gets framed for the murder of his best friend (Kid Cudi). Then he's on a top speed race from New York to Los Angeles to get revenge against the man really resposible.

The story, although nothing new, sounds intriguing when you add names like Aaron Paul, Imogen Poots and Dominic Cooper to it, but we'll see what will they do in a year.

Dominic Cooper joins the "Need for Speed"

November, 7. 2012.

Dominic CooperDominic Cooper has joined our little club of actors that have a need, a „Need for Speed“ as a . You could have seen him recently in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, or if you're like me in Captain America: First Avenger again this morning, but we're not here to talk about that.

We've got some new story parts for this movie and it seems that Dominic is playing Dino, a former NASCAR driver who now owns a business for modifying super cars for the rich. Sounds like a super chap doesn't he.

Thou we'll be more focused on what our star, Aaron Paul, is doing and in this case he's playing an underground race driver with his own show for tunning up expensive cars who gets framed for murder of his best friend during a race and sent to prison. After he gets out, he goes on a revenge hunt.

Imogen Poots, with her role of a savvy exotic car dealer, is our link between these two.

If these 3 pull out their A-game for this movie it'll definitely be worth the watch, but we'll just have to wait for movie to come on February 7, 2014.

Imogen Poots co-stars in "Need for Speed"

October, 31. 2012.

Imogen Poots
Not long ago we had our lead actor revealed and now we have our co-star shown to us. Lovely Imogen Poots is joining Aaron Paul in this fast paced movie to come.

Nothing is yet known about the story, besides that it will be an original one, but we do know that miss Poots will be playing a savvy exotic car dealer for the wealthy.

Now I don't know much about exotic cars, but I believe that I'd buy anything she'd try to sell me. But we'll see about that when the movie comes to the screen, which is on February 7, 2014. Stay tuned here for more news 'till then.

Aaron Paul has a "Need for Speed"

October, 15. 2012.

Aaron PaulWe have our first actor for this project! DreamWorks has announced that “Breaking Bad” star Aaron Paul is starring as a lead role in their upcoming feature film “Need for Speed” which will hit the theaters on February 7, 2014.

With the final episodes of “Braking Bad” coming this is a great shot for Paul to show us his skills in the action paced movie like this, cause let’s face it. “Need for speed” is all about hot and fast cars with occasional girls running around the place so I’m definitely interested to see what will brothers George and John Gatins come up for this first in the line movie.

DreamWorks goes official for "Need for Speed"

June, 22. 2012.

DreamWorks have officially announced their adaptation of world known video game „Need for Speed“ with Scott Waugh on the helm and they've already set the release date for early 2014.

The game itself being one of EA's biggest selling titles with more then 140 million copies sold worldwide since it's initial release, we can imagine that they got big plans for this movie or possible movies if the first one becomes a hit.

Brothers George and John won't base the story on any individual game, but it will be „a fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise.” as it has been said on the official Press Release.

Scott Waugh directing "Need for Speed"

May, 23. 2012.

Scott WaughDreamWorks has offered a chance to „Act of Valor“ co-director Scott Waugh to adapt a popular EA video game franchise „Need for Speed“ to the big screen. Waugh hasn't closed the deal yet, but his new representative at WME have spent last few weeks maing a deal with the studio.

Brothers George and John Gatins developed the story for the film, but George will be writing the script. According GeekTyrant, the story will feature a cross-country race from San Francisco to New York.

DreamWorks plans to develop „Need for Speed“ as a potential rival to the already popular Universal „Fast and Furious“ franchise. Will they succeed? Only time will tell.
